楼梯是每个楼层空间的必经之路，薛若哲选择楼梯的形制和功能，作为赋形的基底，将最易识别的金属隔挡材料，与人走向空间的行为，连接成为“雕塑”的过程，与室内被塑形过的“道路”，共同完成了“通向”的选择与提问。同时，尽可能的遮蔽了空间中可视的信息源，使“通向”的路尽力从身体与行动转换到视觉上的关联性，开放性与封闭性同时产生作用，让“通向”成为自我想象的空间。

The stairs are the only way reach each floor. Xue Ruozhe chose the stairs as the base to shape the most recognizable metal barrier material, making people’s climbing action toward the space into a process of “sculpture”, and jointly completing the selection and questioning of “On its way to..” with the stair-shaped metal barrier material that obstruct the entrance. At the same time, the visual information in the space are obscured as much as possible, so that “On its way to..” is transformed from the body and action to the visual correlation, and the openness and closure work at the same time, so that “On its way to..” becomes a space for self-imagination.
